Our History

From childhood, Jason Kannady, dreamed of being an entrepreneur/businessman in the refuse industry. He watched intently as both his father and grandfather performed their laborious responsibilities on the routes and with the trucks. Even at the age of six he started participating in ride-a-longs in the summer to get more experience.

By age twelve, his parents, James and Peggy Kannady of Bixby, considered their son reliable and mature enough to handle managing a portion of the family's shares in their refuse business; so they signed over a small portion of their company to their son. After graduating high-school, he acquired 1200 shares of his father's Tulsa Refuse Inc routes at fair market value. With more routes added to his resume, his dream was off and running.

In 2002 he married and built his own home on his family's land in Bixby. Between 2002 and 2005, he obtained 2700 more Tulsa route shares. With this progression, in February of 2007, he and his wife started a hometown branch of their family run refuse service. Since their first haul day in Bixby, the number of stops has rapidly grown from 26 to over 1000 in the first 1.5 years; and these routes continue to grow daily. At Nineteen, Jason began working the routes mostly by himself. Now he employs 6 full-time people and will be adding another position in spring/summer of 2009. Being dependable and efficient is what Kannady Industries Inc is all about. As Jason says, "I like leaving a street cleaner than it was before I arrived!"
